This podcast episode is a bit of a tirade. Outreach link builders are notorious for being annoying and spammy in their approach to sourcing opportunities for links (for themselves and their clients).
Sometimes you have to give before you receive. That's the best way to treat other websites. Don't expect to receive something of value before you give something. Life doesn't work that way.
